Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced NetApp engineer to join our client's team and play a key role in managing and supporting their customers NetApp storage infrastructure with a focus on Metrocluster deployments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of NetApp Data ONTAP and at least one year of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Metrocluster configurations. This is an FTE role that requires frequent travel to customer sites throughout the PNW region, including Alaska. Primary work can be done remote as long as the individual resides within WA or OR.

Responsibilities:

• Design, install, and manage NetApp configurations for high availability storage solutions across on-premise, hybrid, and cloud infrastructures

• Deployment of MetroCluster Stretch, Fabric, and IP configurations in adherence to industry best practices.

• Configure and manage NetApp Data ONTAP for optimal performance and resource utilization within Metrocluster environments.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to NetApp storage systems and Metrocluster deployments.

• Perform ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the NetApp storage infrastructure.

• Conduct NetApp Data Protection and Security Assessments to identify gaps in data protection strategies and security vulnerabilities.

• Participate in capacity planning and implement storage solutions to meet evolving customer's business needs.

• Utilizing knowledge of storage protocols such as NFS, SMB, FC, FCoE, iSCSI, NVMe/FC, and S3.

• Working with NAS and SAN environments, as well as file, block, and object storage.

• Document technical procedures and configurations to ensure knowledge transfer and maintain best practices.

  Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in NetApp, 5 years is preferred

• 1+ year experience working within MetroClusters

• Comfortable with frequent travel up to 50%

• Proven experience administering NetApp storage systems using Data ONTAP.

• Strong understanding of storage networking concepts (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, FC).

• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• At least 1 NetApp Cert - NCSE is preferred
