Program Summary

KBR proudly serves as the performance-based contractor for Base Operations Services at the Aegis Ashore Missile Defence System in Naval Support Facility (NSF) Redzikowo, Poland. This program focuses on the deployment and operational management of the sophisticated Aegis system, designed to intercept, and neutralize short- and medium-range ballistic missiles. Our primary mission is to ensure seamless base operations, directly enhancing strategic defence capabilities.

NSF Redzikowo, housing the second Aegis Ashore system, plays a crucial role in NATO's defence against missile threats. Commissioned in September, the facility emphasizes our commitment to supporting key military infrastructures. Its strategic location northwest of Warsaw, near the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, positions it strategically in European defence.

Our involvement in NSF Redzikowo includes comprehensive Base Operations Services, showcasing KBR's expertise in managing complex military facilities. The base incorporates essential infrastructure, such as administrative offices, housing, dining facilities, security buildings, and athletic facilities—all maintained to the highest standards.

Job Summary

Working with minimal supervision, this role involves diagnosing, repairing, and conducting preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment, including numerical control and computerized numerical control machines, precision tools, conventional machine tools, gasoline, diesel, and battery-operated vehicles, downhole drilling tools, motors, and other production equipment. Specializations may encompass electrical, mechanical, vacuum, hydraulic, refrigeration, NC repair, machine tool rebuilding, mobile equipment, and electrical production equipment, including positive displacement mud-motors, mud-operated pulsers, or downhole drilling tools. The position requires using measuring instruments for diagnostics, making general repairs to production equipment, determining replacement parts, and performing limited welding, basic plumbing, and grinding activities. Work is based on prints and schematics, and the necessary skills are typically acquired through 2-3 years of experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Carry out periodic operation, repairs, and maintenance per guidelines; coordinate with supervisor and department leads.

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems, including environmental controls, water production, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and more.

  • Provide technical support to ensure equipment readiness; perform preventive maintenance for safety and increased uptime.

  • Determine spare parts requirements and make equipment recommendations.

  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs; document all maintenance activities.

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment promptly; read schematics.

  • Perform occasional cutting and welding using gas and electric welding equipment.

  • Utilize tools/equipment for work; diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.

  • Experience in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Hydraulics, Pneumatics Maintenance.

  • Handle administrative duties: prepare and submit accurate reports for equipment repair and maintenance.

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives; plan and coordinate with other departments for major activities.

  • Communicate equipment problems or breakdown information; inform management of technical issues affecting safe operations.

  • Promote a safe and respectful work environment; ensure the proper use of permit to work and isolation systems.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • US Citizenship.

  • Must be fluent in English.

  • Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages remaining.

  • Must possess driver's license with at least 6 months of remaining validity.

  • Must possess security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain.

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 1 – 3 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Previous electro/mechanical repair and maintenance experience.

  • Must be proficient with computers and have a familiarity with operational and maintenance publications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NAVFAC Experience

  • Graduate of Trade School or University where knowledge and training acquired are applicable to job requirements.
